Staci's tips on picking out paint colors-My kid's bedroom

If you have been following my blog you know I am a part time interior designer and FULL time Mom! Often my personal home projects go slow but that's life. I am always thinking of new projects to complete and dreaming of time to do them (and when my husband is available to help me with the kids).

First Step:
When I begin a child bedroom design I always look for an inspiration piece first and foremost. Usually I browse online and in stores for reasonably priced, patterned, and quality bedding. In the past, I have designed custom bedding for adults but not for kids rooms. At this stage in my kids young lives I am not willing to spend money on custom bedding. Once I find a set I love my mind is racing with ideas. I am inspired by the color and pattern of bedding.

I have an architectural paint chip set from Sherwin Williams. I have an account there and like their paint so that is where I buy most of my wall paint.Second Step: I pull out the colors I want to focus on. I try to match them up and see if the line of paint offers me the right hue.I want hot pink accents so this one will work.I want light pink so this one will work with the hot pink one.

Of course more to come on this room. I have completed the paint selection. Keep checking back to see where I go with this next...Furniture!!
