I broke the patio glass table trying to put the umbrella in place. I am happy to report no one was hurt. It was such a mess to clean up! I used a shop vacuum for the deck. We had to pick through the grass underneath the deck and search for more pieces. My husband did most of it! What a good man.
Looking at the positive- My husband took the metal frame to a metal recycling yard locally and they paid us $2.10 for the frame and aluminum pole (which was worth the most). If you have some metal to get rid of try recycling it by looking in your local yellow pages. I guess it pays to recycle and be GREEN!

Now where do I take my broken bread maker?
When A and I first got married, we had three patio tables between the two of us. We'd had them out for Mothers Day and about a week later he went hiking. K and I went outside and found one of the tables looking just like this. Incredible what that glass looks like all shattered, like chunky diamonds. Happily, our deck is not elevated so the pieces that made it through were ok, but it was a big mess to get the rest cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteI need to get the name of the place you took it to recycle. We have been collecting cans to recycle, and I have not been sure where to take them. Paper and plastic go to the school.
I sent you an email on the place. Yes, they looked like chunky diamonds....wish they were I'd be RICH!
