Painting vertical stripes

Painting vertical stripes can be tricky and fun! I enjoyed this fun paint project when we first moved into this house. This is my uni-sex safari nursery. I designed this nursery on a budget 5 years ago. I decided to incorporate the existing denim fabric rocker that my husband bought me for my first Mother's Day. I also wanted the impact to be with PAINT! I designed the spacing of the stripes and then marked with a pencil the color locations. My lovely husband painted the stripes. There are lots of tricks to taping and painting stripes.
Check out some helpful vertical stripe painting hints found here!

  1. That looks awesome! You did great! Cheers to a great room! It's great that your colors are standing the test of time! Five years later and those colors are still great!

  2. Cute cute cute! I love the color combo and to have it unisex is even a bonus. Now you just need to use it as a nursery again ...for a boy this time :) Seriously, I have been in paint mode and have done both our bathrooms. Now I'm thinking of moving to K's room for a coveted Green Bay Packer color scheme. It has the yellow on the bottom, green on the top and a white stripe in the middle. I'm going to have to figure out a great way to do a horizontal white stripe that is even and pretty...wish me luck!
